Breast Reconstruction

Dr. Kania was the first surgeon to bring microsurgical breast reconstruction to Northwest Arkansas, where she established the region’s inaugural program offering advanced autologous options such as DIEP, PAP, and TUG flaps. She offers immediate, delayed, and complex revision reconstructions – including for patients who were previously not offered reconstruction or are dissatisfied with prior outcomes. She routinely performs hybrid flaps, extended and stacked flaps for patients who prefer natural reconstruction but have limited donor tissue. Her practice also includes pre-pectoral implant-based reconstruction and resensation procedures using nerve coaptation to help restore sensation following mastectomy.

She accepts regional and national referrals for delayed and complex revision cases for both tissue-based and implant-based reconstruction.

Her approach reflects a modern philosophy – breast reconstruction should not only restore appearance but also improve function and quality of life. She pioneered the region’s first Enhanced Recovery After Surgery (ERAS) protocol for breast reconstruction, reducing reliance on narcotics and promoting faster, more comfortable recovery. She was also the first in the area to perform vascularized lymph node transfers to treat and reduce the risk of lymphedema in high-risk patients.

Dr. Kania believes in empowering patients through education and shared decision-making, ensuring they are informed of all reconstructive options – whether implant-based or autologous – so they can make choices that reflect their individual needs and goals. She collaborates closely with breast surgeons, medical oncologists, and radiation oncologists to provide a deeply evidence-based, multidisciplinary approach to care. This coordinated model ensures each patient receives thoughtful, personalized treatment at every stage of their cancer and reconstruction journey. She is a vocal advocate for patient access to reconstruction and played a key role in passing Arkansas Senate Bill 83 (Act 424), guaranteeing insurance coverage for advanced breast reconstruction techniques across the state.

Explant Surgery

Dr. Kania manages complex implant-related concerns including capsular contracture, implant animation, and Breast Implant Illness (BII). She offers personalized treatment plans that may include total capsulectomy with aesthetic flat closure, conversion to natural tissue reconstruction, or fat grafting and breast lift procedures. Her dual training in aesthetic and reconstructive surgery allows her to address both cosmetic and functional outcomes with precision and care.

Aesthetic Surgery

Dr. Kania brings the same precision and thoughtful planning to aesthetic surgery that she applies to her reconstructive work. Her background in complex microsurgical reconstruction gives her a deep understanding of anatomy, symmetry, and proportion – skills that translate into refined, natural-looking aesthetic outcomes. She provides a full range of aesthetic procedures for the face, breast, and body, with a focus on achieving elegant, balanced results that align with each patient’s personal goals.

Her facial aesthetic offerings include facelift, neck lift, brow lift, eyelid surgery (blepharoplasty), rhinoplasty, and facial contouring, as well as skin resurfacing with chemical peels and laser treatments. Dr. Kania also offers a comprehensive suite of non-surgical facial rejuvenation treatments, including neuromodulators, dermal fillers, and regenerative therapies such as PRP.

In breast and body aesthetics, Dr. Kania performs breast augmentation (with implants or fat grafting), breast lifts and reductions, mommy makeovers, abdominoplasty (tummy tuck), and advanced body contouring using liposuction – including 360 liposuction and high-definition sculpting. She also offers aesthetic revision surgery for patients seeking improvement after previous cosmetic procedures.

Dr. Kania approach to aesthetic surgery is with subtlety and sophistication – refining what’s already beautiful to create results that are timeless, elegant, and uniquely yours. She takes the time to understand each person’s goals, delivering results that look and feel like the best version of themselves. Her aesthetic philosophy is rooted in elegance, balance, and longevity – achieved through meticulous technique, honest consultation, and individualized care.
